The Reata Marine Terminal is located on and is serviced by the Sabine-Neches Waterway and the Gulf lntracoastal Canal with two barge docks and one deep water dock at the Port of Port Arthur, which has over 3,000 feet of bulkhead, located 19 NM to open sea, and maintained at a depth of 41 feet. Access to the Port is within 150 yards from Reata’s lands and associated newly constructed rail system tied to Kansas City Southern Rail’s main yard.

Installation of the product-dedicated pipeline infrastructure at the dock will be designed for loading ships and barges at high speed pumping rates.

With Congress’ passing of H.R. 3080 federal funds totaling $748 million was allocated to the Sabine-Neches Waterway Improvement Project which will deepen the existing channel to a depth of 48 feet that will accommodate the larger ships (new Panamax size, 125,000 MT) that can now navigate through the Panama Canal. This will be the first Gulf Coast system to be able to accommodate the post Panama expansion vessels from origins worldwide. The expanded Sabine-Neches Waterway along with the Panama Canal expansion will provide a significant competitive opportunity for all US. inland waterways prepared to handle these new Panamax size vessels.
